This is based on the build found on this website:

http://pcbuildsonabudget.com/best-gaming-pc-build-for-under-1000-dollars

It seems solid enough... though I'll admit I know next to nothing about building a computer. I had to change around some of the parts to work around my budget (which centers around a Best Buy card and being able to pay it off without interest over the next several months).

I'd appreciate some opinions. Are the changes I made good? Should I have done something different or chosen a different part when making the changes? Heck, was the base of my build (pcbuildsonabudget) even a good build?

Oh, I went with a different case than the guy on pcbuildsonabudget used since it seemed better. Again, I've no idea and I can't figure out how to learn more about all of this without just diving in and buying one.

Thanks for any help any of you can offer.

I would switch out the GTX 1070 for the GTX 1060, as the 1070 is way overkill for 1080p.

Also, I would go for a higher end power supply. It's 750W which is good, but it's only bronze-certified and you definitely don't need 750W. An SSD would also be good and I would suggest an H7 CPU Cooler instead. I personally would go for a 23" or a 24" monitor but if you like the one you selected I'll leave it in. I included 650W and that is still overkill, but it will give you some headroom if you ever want to upgrade.

1070 is way overkill for 1080p.

Overkill isnt always a bad thing, think longer lasting for the price of a 1070 it will still fair better than a 1060 once nvidia releases new gpu's. Where as a 1060 will begin struggling over time.

True, the 1070 will be better over time. I just figured I should put the 1060 in it since he said he was on a budget.

I'm looking at the recommended specs to run Fallout 4 and it's saying that a CPU should equate to this... Intel Core i7 4790 3.6 GHz/AMD FX-9590 4.7 GHz or equivalent The one I've got in my build is only 3.5 GHz... will that 0.1GHz make a difference? I really want to mod the game, skyrim and fallout 3/nv as well.

I mean yeah that works. Thats a good build, congrats. Also dont be to scared about building, its not that hard, like putting legos together pretty much :)
