I've done my best to try to get the most bang for my buck as a novice while keeping the budget around $1,000 for my first build. I decided overclocking wasn't really something I needed because while this is going to be a gaming and day-to-day work computer, I know I won't be worried about squeezing out a few extra frame-rates as long as everything runs well. Any last-minute suggestions are appreciated! Thanks.

I assume on a budget you are going to be playing at 1080p, so I downgraded to a 1060 GB as the 1070 is a bit overkill.

The SSD you have albeit an amazing one is pretty pricey and the PNY will perform almost on-par.

just for reference, if OP wants to get the 850 evo over the cs1311 then he can do that and will get noticeable differences in some applications. Microsoft word will pretty much be the same, but in things like games the cs1311 is about 1.5ish seconds slower than the 850 evo. So depending on OPs needs the 850 evo may be the better option. Some games the delay wont matter, but other games where theres a loading screen every few minutes then saving a second or two on each one could be very helpful.

Granted though at the moment the 850 evo is highly priced. Usually it can be found for upper $80s.

It's a GREAT ssd, no one is arguing that, but highly overpriced right now.

Thanks for the helpful input! Now I just need to acquire a new keyboard and mouse. They don't have to be the best, but I've seen a lot that look over-the-top flashy or cheaply made. Any suggestions?
