You got an unlocked i5 and you are planning on getting a liquid cooler which I would assume is for overclocking. You need to get a Z170 motherboard . If you are not planning on overclocking then get the locked i5-6500 and the stock cooler would be fine.

Second you need to replace that PSU. NEX G1 is not a good choice. I would also go with EVGA GPU.

Now to answer your question both are great coolers. The H115i on high performance will outperform the X61 but it will also be around 9-10db louder. When the H115i is in quiet mode the X61 outperforms it. So it depends if you want a quieter cooler or better performance.

Ok thank you. Why would I need a z170 board?

To overclock the 6600k.. If not why go with an unlocked i5? You would just be spending on the liquid cooler for looks which makes no sense..

If you are not planning on overclocking just get the i5-6500 and use the stock cooler or just a get a cheaper cooler like the cryorig M9i which you can get for 20 bucks.

Also anything faster than 2133 (ram) will be downclocked with a non Z170 board.
