Did I mess up buying this current setup?

Here is the very first computer I ever built. I got another 1000$ laying around and was wondering if I should upgrade? At the time I just bought based off reviews and didn't cheap out on anything. Which is the reason some things are overkill. I use my computer for adobe apps, c#, online school, rpg maker, lots of video games, and moho pro 12. I have yet to encounter a problem on anything really but I would like to get a htc vive before the end of the year.

if you bought this in the last 6 months, yes. gpu, hell yes. case, yes. psu, yes, needless overkill. could have gotten the 550 G2 and a far better gpu regardless of when this was purchased. the only thing that actually needs upgrading is the gpu.

what do you recommend? yea i bought this build about 5 months ago but the only reason I got that graphics card was because I didn't think I would be fast enough to get a gtx card and I wanted something from asus. But I paid only 160 for the graphic card at the time off newegg brand new.

If you want 1080p 60hz, get a GTX 1060. If you want 1080p 144hz or 1440p 60hz, get a GTX 1070. If you want 4K 60hz or 1440p 144hz get a GTX 1080.

may as well get a gtx 1080 now or wait on the GTX 1080 ti. both good options at this point. 1080 ti comes in 2-3 months supposedly.
