I am considering a build, my first one. I will be gaming, WoW, doing photo manipulations, normal MS Office stuff, web surfing. I don't really need a budget build, so this one right at $1300 is good. I am wondering if the group has any input. Would something be better than what I picked, etc.

  • don't need a 6700k
  • don't need a full tower
  • don't need a 650 watt psu
  • the 250 EVO 250GB at $100 isn't a great look
  • you can buy windows 10 on usb so no need for the dvd drive

I suggest an i5, better cpu cooler, faster M.2 SSD and an equally good psu in a more appropriate capacity, but since there are no affordable, high end 360- 400 watt psus in this market, the 550 G2 will have to do.

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. Why an i5 instead of an i7? I always like better, specially when cooling my cpu, so I am good there thanks! Do you just prefer the intel ssd? I will most likely need the optical drive for other uses, so I am most likely stuck with it.

About the post, I couldn't figure out how to post the actual build like you did, how did you do that?

Again, thanks.

Why an i5 instead of an i7?

the i7 doesn't benefit the build at all over the i5

Do you just prefer the intel ssd?

not especially, but it's faster, has a bit more capacity and has no extra footprint in the build or need for cables. win, win, win.

to the right of the permalink in the part list, it says "markup". click the icon right next to that and copy/paste.
