Upgrading from Lenovo Y50 to Desktop

I'm upgrading from a laptop with an 860m. I'm mostly hoping to build a PC that has longevity to upgrade my GPU later down the line. How did I do?

How did I do?

Several issues with your build..

You have an unlocked i5-6600K with a B150 motherboard. If you are overclocking you will need a Z170 board. If you are not planning on overclocking then just get the i5-6500.

The 840 evo is way outdated, reason why it has a very expensive absurd price. Get the MX300 which is cheaper

You have a mini itx motherboard with a large case. Makes sense to either get a smaller case or micro atx motherboard.

You can get a better PSU and GPU. What is your total budget and are you planning on overclocking?

Thanks for the tips, no I don't plan on overclocking. I've updated a few of the things you said. As far as case vs. motherboard would an upgrade motherboard make more sense or should I just downgrade my case? Looking for longevity.

If you want it to last longer the 6600k would have the advantage of overclocking to get more out of it later on when needed. This build has a better motherboard, better PSU, cpu cooler performs on par with EVO, better GPU and 16gb of ram. Only thing missing is wifi which i dont know if you need.. If you want longevity then go with something like this..
