Hi and thanks for opening this thread,

Looking to do my 1st/2nd PC build. I have some experience with building PC's plus youtube... I already have the RAM, 2x4 Gb Corsair Vengeance LP DDR3 1600MHz. Just looking for advice on the graphics card; I don't have a massive interest in playing BF1 or anything like that on it, I have a PS4 so its just for PC only games (I do love modded games though, currently playing ROME 2; love the Total War series). However I do need to do my Uni work on it which entails some modeling programs . Also haven't chosen the Power Supply yet as it will likely fluctuate depending on the Graphics Card.

All help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

That CPU is really not good for gaming. Games prefer high single-threaded performance while your CPU is better for multi-threaded performance.

See this comparison.

So here's an Intel build instead:

You did not say how much budget you have, so I went with a relatively cheap GPU. If you have deeper pockets, go for the RX 480 or GTX 1060. However, around these cards you might want to get an i5-6500 CPU as well to make sure you CPU would not be the bottle neck in certain games.
