Hello guys, so I finally got all my parts together except RAM, which is coming on monday. So few questions. 1. If I completely messed up my wiring is it possible for my computer to burn? 2. So my mother board Asus X99 has these two http://i.imgur.com/kZ16iB3.jpg , EATX12_v1 and v2 but my power supply does not have 4 pin to plug in to EATX12V_2, so i left it without plugging anything in it, is that bad? 3. http://i.imgur.com/E3lE31y.jpg is marked is CPU, meaning I plug that end in to the motherboard right? Is it bad if I plug the ends in reverse, such as CPU in PSU? 4. My case has these two wires http://i.imgur.com/fQCnne5.jpg , which I am not sure what they are or where they go. 5. Did I correctly install my CPU fan direction? 6. Here is album if my build http://imgur.com/a/8YGxD please take a look, let me know what you think of my wiring skills(I got none lol).

Thank you so much, I know its a lot of questions. But this is my first build and I am scared I might burn or ruin it somehow...

  1. Yes it can cause issues in absolute worst cases if you wired things totally incorrectly, hard to do however as most devices / headers can only be connected in one way so hard to do so. So not to worry as such, its fairly straight forward.

  2. It is ideal to plug in both and the manual assuming its something like the ASUS X99A / deluxe: https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/X99-DELUXE-II/HelpDesk_Manual/ where they say you need to, but I know people who only do the 8 pin and are fine but do not Overclock. However this is all moot as you have 2 EPS connectors with the RM850x which can split into 2 parts. So you should have no issue plugging in the 8 and 4 pin connectors for the CPU as you already have the cables.

  3. Its hard to incorrectly wire the cables. But yes the side with CPU will go into the motherboard. It has a different pin layout anyways to the side that goes into the PSU so unless you force things in very hard and damage the cable, it should be fairly obvious.

  4. Those 3 pin headers are typically for Fan's. One for the front fan and one for the rear fan.

  5. Yep you installed the CPU cooler correctly.
