  1. For streaming/content creation purposes (same as me), the i7 will be better.

  2. Changed the PSU to a better, more reliable one.

  3. The GPU is really your choice. The 1060 should be able to handle games that are out right now at Ultra 60fps no problem. However, a more future-proof decision would be the 1070, for about $150-$200 more. If you can cough up the extra money, go for the 1070, if not, just know that in the future you might have to downscale your graphics to play comfortably, especially while streaming/recording.

Thank you this helps alot! Looks like the i7 it is. I think i would rather save the 200 bucks to spend on steam but i do have the money to bump up to he 1070 and if its really just going to save me money in the long run i migt as well spring for it. What makes a pc "vr ready"? I may want to dabble in vr in the future

No prob.

Not too adept on VR ready PCs. I'd assume a skylake cpu and a 10 series Nvidia GPU with proper cooling would equate to a VR ready system.

An i7 would help with streaming.

So if you could choose i7 instead of i5 or 1070 instead of 1060 you would do the cpu instead of the graphics card? Like if i just upgraded one of them?

It depends, an i5 + 1070 would be better but you kinda need the i7 for streaming. Look up i5 vs i7 for streaming and see what you think.
