http://pcpartpicker.com/list/RskDwV My budget started at $600... as you can see it has gone up. Unfortunately I am not made of money, and dont want to have to be replacing parts in 2 or 3 years. (I'm making this mostly for open world single player games, in case it makes a difference) With directX 12 on the rise, i'm pretty sure that from what ive seen, the RX 480 8Gb will out preform the GTX 1060 in the long run. If anyone has any insight to share as to which card would be better for me, i would love to hear it. Also, how do all the other parts of my system look? This is my first build, so im not sure what i'm doing right or wrong, so if theres anything on my build that might not work as well as something else for about the same price please let me know

You can't really futureproof, as we don't know what the future will bring. I mean if Vulcan becomes a big thing, then the RX 480 will outperform the GTX 1060 in every singe game. But for now the GTX 1060 performs a little better than RX 480 (even in DX12 titles).
