With some ideas. Trying to fine tune a build I've had in my head for a while and if anyone with more experience want's to chime in you are more than welcome.

Only thing I can think of is adding fans to the case right now. I want the sound card because I enjoy some quality music, but i don't know a lot about sound cards tbh.

No need to get a sound card, the on board audio is at least as good as that if not better. The best thing you can do for music which I am assuming you don't have is get some good headphones and then maybe a DAC and then start worrying about the board audio. THAT SSD is of pretty bad value. What is this build for?

Good point. I have some m50x's, and some senn hd598s. I want to get a good speaker system later on as well.

Is there a better ssd for less? I figured Samsung was good. It's for some gaming, editing, home work. Just a little bit of everything. Updating my old budget build from four years ago.

It has a much better bang for your buck SSD. Sure its not as good in benchmarks but when it comes to load times for games and boot times for programs and the OS its going to be very very similar and I got a 2TB HDD for mass storage and I got cheaper RAM.

The ssd and ram are kinda like a diminishing return on the higher end then? Thank you though.

For gaming and general usage you really won't notice the difference between a half way decent SSD and a very high end one like a Samsung 950 Pro or even a 960 Pro.

For RAM you can notice a difference in speed although its not huge and isn't worth spending a lot more money on. If its ~$10 I could justify it. Now if its ~$20 or ~$40 more its a no for me. This RAM is pushing it but it was one of the cheapest color neutral RAM that was at around ~3000Mhz and iirc wasn't much more than slower RAM.

Hmm, very interesting test. Thank you for the info.

Agreed on the RAM, with some overclocking it shouldn't make much of a difference anyways right?
