Going to MicroCenter this morning (New build)

Battlefield 1 is living proof that my GTX 580 and i7 920 cannot keep up anymore. I have enjoy the ever living **** out of this computer and have put thousands of gaming hours into it. My current rig with minimal upgrades is now over 7.5 years old. I'm ready to go to MicroCenter tomorrow and build a rig so i can enjoy BF1. M My game plan is to get a 6700k/16gb ddr4 ram/gtx 1080 and a solid motherboard for my foundation. I want a new case because my other is beat to crap and I also have ran my corsair 650 PSU for over 7.5 years - I just think its safe to get a new one.

What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.

Mainly Battlefield 1 and high-end games. Also web browsing, photo editing, storage – this will be my only PC. If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, FPS, game settings)

Running games on ultra at 1440p+

What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?

no more than $1400 ($1500 with tax is absolute max)

In what country are you purchasing your parts?

USA – Microcenter maybe 15 miles away from house (live in Houston)

My Questions

1) What Air cooler can i get at micro-center? They seem limited and do not seem to carry cryorig or be quiet!

2) Is there anything I should tone down if I only plan to game at 1080p for the next 6-12 months? IE drop down to a 1070 and later on get a better gpu?

3)Does microcenter price match with atleast newegg or amazon? I have never been in one.

4) Any other advice before I go in this morning? I will just salvage my HDD's for now.

Why don't you just order the parts from several shops online? It would be cheaper and you'd have more items to choose from.

I bought some of my parts at a Micro Center in Boston and one of the sales associates there did mention something about price matching in passing. I can't say for sure that they do as I didn't take them up on the offer as all the parts I planned on buying there were as low as possible (mobo/cpu discount, etc). But it can't hurt to ask. The one in Boston carried mostly Cooler Master cpu coolers from what I saw. 1070 will demolish 1080p. You could even go with a 1060 and upgrade later if that's your plan.
