Hello guys!

I am new to the pc world and building so i was totally winging it on this build. I'm looking to average out to about what this price is and was still looking for some feedback from my fellow computer techs out there! Does this build look reasonable or am i way off? I do love gaming/editing so i'm normally rendering something out or playing something. I'd appreciate any feedback and i wasn't 100% sure about the cooling.. I've rather good things about the fans selected and mounting the other 120mm fans onto the H100i.

Thanks guys!

If you are new to pc world .A $4000 pc is too overpriced .

My part list worth tons of research http://pcpartpicker.com/user/iiTracer/saved/BJ7WZL

. My build ( without extra item) cost $1300

. Your need to do more research on pc hardwares .

. Extra Case fan doesn't affect the thermo performance

. The i7-6800K cost over $400

Yeah, i saw that it's around 600ish total. I'm just using the fans for better push/pull than what the standard case fans have to offer.

have you already bought the cpu?

I have not but it's the one i've been looking at for awhile.

okay, few things I'd change:

  • get the 6800k if going X99, the 6850K isn't worth the extra for useless pci-e lanes, especially since SLI has been limited and you aren't using a bunch of (any) M.2 drives
  • the case comes with fans that actually outperform Noctua NF-P14 redux and are even with the NF-A15's
  • if you're gonna change fans on the cooler, get some that perform better, not worse, than the ones it comes with
  • you don't nee the X99 Deluxe, the X99-A II will be fine
  • the psu is way overkill, a 650 or 750 watt at the very most is appropriate for this build
  • the MX 200 isn't a good buy at all and you'll likely want and need more storage than 250GB

I'd suggest this for X99 build:

I'll be carrying over previous HDD's from the old rig. What do you recommend for SSD if not Crucial? I've heard good things about it. Are you sure about the fans? My cousin has the case and i love it but even he said the fans on it weren't performing as greatly as he thought so he even replaced his. I'll take a look at the 6800k

Thanks!

Thanks! I did take my friends suggestion above and dropped from the 6850 to the 6800k cpu. It's not a huge increase with the 6850 especially for it's current price.

Honestly if I were you I'd settle with a 1080 and a 6700K, even with the money you have. It's nice to have so much money for peripherals, as if you start getting into the fidelity side of audio you'll easily want $300 for headphones/speakers.

Thank you for the feedback! The only reason i've been more focused on the sli aspect is because of editing. I like quick render times and i normally put the work on my gpu's instead. The current old rig i have now i feel i have to wait forever before anything renders. It does have a lot of age on it and it's why i'm looking now to finally build something newer that will once again last for quite awhile.
