Trying to make a PC that is somewhat future proof and can handle most games. Please be honest I want to make sure I'm not over powered or underwhelmed. I see myself getting into this as a hobby and will pay it forward when im able too. Thanks.

What are you planning on doing with this build? What is your budget?

Are you planning on overclocking?

Why are you going with an i7? If this is a gaming build then an i5 would be fine

At this point go with a GTX 1060 which performs better than the GTX 970 and is also more efficient.

Get a better PSU.

Go with the H7 which even being smaller outperforms the evo and is also quieter. You can drop the thermal paste as the one included with the H7 is a good one.

You can get cheaper but faster ram..

You should definitely consider getting a SSD.

112 bucks for the Krait 3X with mail in rebate is an amazing deal. Its usually around 145-150 bucks and its on par with the Asus board.
