My friend needs help. (in dire need of a quick answer)

So my friend just got his new PC and cannot install windows! He wants to install windows onto his SSD but he gets this message.

We tried disabling EFI boot sources, but the boot mode option is locked!

Help anyone?

Press Shift+F10 to open a command prompt, then type in the following and press enter in sequence:

  • diskpart
  • list disk
  • select disk number 1
  • clean
  • convert gpt
  • exit

Here is an image illustration of the above.

You might want to carefully look at the listing from 'list disk', as from the screenshot provided it looks like the SSD is disk number 1. So, if that's the case, the above line 3 should read 'select disk number 1'.
