If you got a cheaper CPU cooler, and maybe a cheaper SSD (to start with) you could probably squeeze a 1080 in there.

What monitor are you using though... a 1080 is super overkill for 1080p

Yeah I'm only using a 1080p monitor. So should I just stick with a 1070 then?

Current monitor: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-MX279H-1920x1080-Frameless-Monitor/dp/B00B17C5KO

Whats a better CPU cooler and SSD you recommend?

You'll be fine great with a 1070 on 1080p @ 60hz.

No need to change the other parts if you aren't stretching for a 1080

The way people put the lines through the words and re-write it like that, is it supposed to be a joke?

Depends how they use it. I used it to emphasize the 1070 will be overkill for 1080p but that is good because it is more "future proof".

I would go for the 1090 ti if you want future proofing
