First build, need it for trying out "latest and greatest" games and occasional video rendering

Here's my current part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/sTGyVY

Will these parts work together well? I am not planning to overclock the cpu or run the PC 24/7, however I'll do some occasional RAM-hungry work with virtual boxes & video/photo apps, and a game here and there.

My main goal is to have a sexy machine that is as fast as possible with low power consumption, and it should be quiet.

Thanks for your tips

This parts list needs help. More than I can offer on my phone. Will do my best to help when I get home.

Costs less, and accomplishes the same thing. Also has better quality parts.

Thanks! Is there a big enough difference between the Asus motherboard I picked and this ASRock of yours? ASRock definitely looks more premium and supports more stuff, but it lacks wifi/BL connectivity I need. Just wondering if the difference is worth it

Biggest difference is that the motherboard I chose is a Z series chipset. If you're getting a k series cpu, you should pair it with a board you can overclock on. I like to keep the option open for myself (hence the big cooler and overclock capable board) but if you never will want to you can save some money going with something like an i5-6500 and either a b150 or h170 board

I too would like to keep this option open, to maybe OC sometime in the future. This is mu latest component list http://pcpartpicker.com/list/9TGWf8 - any additional suggestions?

Really don't need 32gb of ram. You'd be better off going with 16, and upgrading to a 1070. I can post a bit of an improvement when I get to an actual computer

Cool, thanks. I was thinking about that, but getting the best video card possible is not really a priority as I'm not much of a gamer - PC will mostly be used for photo/video editing and just occasional games. 16gb might be just slightly short of my predicted requirements. 24gb would be perfect but 24gb of ram sounds weird

If you look at the top of your page - the configuration says

Compatibility Check: No issues/incompatibilities found

Gotcha, what I want to know if components will work together well - can I optimise this build further to enable the main components get to their full potential? Thanks :)

Lower TDP CPU

Better CPU Cooler

Better GPU. The EVGA ACX 3.0 cards are having a heat issue.

Better Power Supply

Bigger mass storage drive

And a better fan

no point getting a very expenisve air cooler for a 6700. Good build but I would still go with a 6700K

Thanks! What is the reason you chose a lower TDP CPU?

Just noticed that it has lower power consumption and should satisfy all the needs if one is not planning to overclock. I think I'm picking this one, thank you!

EDIT: Although the price difference between the two is only about 30 euros from where I'm buying

If you are going that high end why not X99?
