Reasonably High-End mini itx Build for Design and Gaming

Hey all, I will be building a new system in January, primarily for two functions; gaming and professional architectural design & rendering. Also I would like to have the option to move it around since I do travel a lot for overseas part-time works therefore I am going for a mini itx build. I currently have a pretty decent build ( i7 4790k, cooled via corsair h100i gtx, on ga-z97n-wifi with 16GB (2x8) ballistix sport ram and evga gtx 960 ssc inside a bitfenix phenom m); but the thing is I promised to sell it to a friend; since he liked it very much but he doesn't have time to build himself one (offered a pretty generous price), so although i like it i think it is a good idea to upgrade and renew my PC. Also keep in mind that I am a designer and I value design aspect almost as much as I value performance. Therefore I need the forum's wisdom on the matter, of course I have done my homework but I am open to critisim and suggestions. My current build is around $1500 (USD) I can go as high as $2000 but not a cent more. Also I like the idea of being able to play whatever; although I primarily play candy crush .... jk; Attila Total War, Witcher 3, Battlefield 1, etc.

TL;DR:

Suggest me $1500-$2000 mITX minimalist build for Gaming, 3D Design & Rendering for January 2017

What I have in my mind is: - Gigabyte GA-Z170N-Gaming 5 (like the usb-c) or Asus Z170I Pro Gaming - i7 6700K - Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16GB) - Evga GTX 1070 FTW or maybe 1080? - no idea about which PSU; since I have not researched about OC yet. - Ncase m1 silver case or danCase a4-sfx (mind that build needs to be small) i like premium quality and materials cases and I do not mind modding them since I have access to professional workshops. - Also cooling suggestions are welcome, iincluding custom liq cooling if you believe it is worth for this build; but imo it's overkill.
