Upgraded my CPU set (cpu, mobo, ram) but I'm still waiting for my upgraded power supply. Will my old one work for now?

Hey guys so here's my old build (what i'm running now) http://pcpartpicker.com/user/hazyman0/saved/8bV7P6

And this is my new build (bought all the parts already) http://pcpartpicker.com/user/hazyman0/saved/6NVcf7

I've received every part except for my Power Supply. I bought my power supply from B&H and it says "coming soon" which to me could mean a week to a months time. I was just wondering if my 500w power supply can sustain my new build. Or is it too risky and not worth the try. Thanks for the advice.

it will easily run unless the psu was faulty. your new parts use less power than your old parts.

So is it necessary for me to actually upgrade my PSU to the EVGA? Or should I save the money.

it's not necessary at all. but the 650G2 is a much better psu that should last alot longer and gives room for multiple upgrade paths.
