Do all Motherboards support 1-5 VRAM?

What I mean is, is the version of VRAM (1-5) dependent on the GPU or do only some Motherboards say, ones with GDDR4 VRAM PCI-E x16 slots (if they exist), support GPUs with GDDR4 VRAM like some Motherboards support GDDR2 RAM? Thank you!

Simpler: is the type of VRAM: handled on the GPU side or do you need a compatible PCI-E x16 slot?

ELI5: Do these slots PCI-E slots exist: PCI-E x16 GDDR 1-5 on the Motherboard, or is there no such thing?

as long as the motherboard has a pci-e x 16 slot you should be fine with any card.
