I somehow came across a 6950x and few other goodies so just need some additional parts to make a full pc Looking for suggestions on case, motherboard, and graphics card (i multitask with bajillion tabs on chrome, play some games, etc) looking for best bang for buck( would not mind spending extra few bucks if worth) not looking to do watercooling on first build but will use AIO

Case Corsair 460x or 270r or s340 or h440 or r5 window I don't want it to be too big( mid atx) and looking for minimal sound want to show off interior

Motherboard asus x99 ROG STRIX or msi x99a gaming pro carbon

graphics card need most help on this EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 or Zotac 1080 artic storm or asus 1080 strix(i dont think this will fit in the cases im looking at) or msi 1080 seahawk x or msi 1080 ti gaming x

is my psu enough?

thanks for any advice/suggestions PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

is your PSU enough.... thats basicly a cadillac .... it should be good even if you wanted to run two 1080Ti in SLI

i try not to comment on cases(short of completely shotty construction) as people tend to have vastly different opinions on whats important, and nothing jumps out as a red flag in your list.

mobo- msi x99a gaming pro carbon, a bit cheaper without really sacrificing anything... personally i also love the look(not a huge fan of the "carbon fiber" stickers, but they don't do any harm) i think they did a great job of keeping the features that are actually wanted without going overboard with extras that i'd never make use of.

GPU- if your budget is letting you look at those cards def go with a 1080Ti. be it the EVGA FTW3 or the MSI Gaming X(hell even one of the cheaper ones would kick ***, i think the evga black edition is $50+ cheaper, but i guess i'm not sure if that matters at this point)

Good Luck

any input on cases?

looking at p400s , r5 , or the corsair 460x

airswag submitter 1 point 24 months ago

so i went with the phanteks P400s. according to their website, the case supports up to 395mm with my Kraken X62...theoretically radiator at 30mm+fan width of 26mm...i have up to 339mm of clearance for my GPU. therefore a MSI 1080ti Gaming X(290mm) or Asus Strix 1080ti(298mm) or EVGA 1080 ti FTW3(300mm) should fit?

can anyone confirm/double check my calculations?

thanks in advance
