Hi, I need some help with finding the capabilities of my current planned build. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/JoshGer/saved/D7WsYJ I want to know, how well will this play current games, how well would you predict it to play games 2 years from now, and how could I make this part list cheaper, while keeping the experience mostly the same. Keep note that I am used to 10-20 FPS, so anything predicted above 30 FPS in future games will be fine. Thanks! Josh

This is a decent build. Probably not going to age well, but that is largely due to the gpu. As fat pumpkin said the 80$s investment on a 580 would probably be worth it, but its not required. You will also need a larger drive at some point. See if you cant find a busted laptop or old computer someone doesent want. Its quite possible it has a working mech drive (I have around 5TBs worth of storage on my desk in the form of drives I have recovered from otherwise dead pcs)

Oh, thanks for the idea of reusing my laptops hard drive! I will be replacing my current laptop with this computer, and it has a 500GB drive.

Thanks, I will plan for a better graphics card. The main reason I wanted to look to save money was to convince my parents to let me buy this stuff, I have talked to them before and they say my laptop, which was a budget laptop from 2 years ago, is "still good." They obviously have more reasons for them not to let me buy it, but they don't want to tell me. I think your predictions of future FPS will be a good convincing point for my parents. I will be reusing my 500GB drive from my laptop, I will get an SSD when I feel the time is right. Thanks so much for your help!

I just want to make sure, this is a good card? https://pcpartpicker.com/product/pKX2FT/evga-geforce-gtx-1060-3gb-sc-gaming-video-card-03g-p4-6162 I am practically clueless when it comes to graphics card specs.

There's no such thing as a 1500 but I see your point. I'd say that the GPU is the most significant thing here.
