Will a GTX 1060 Strix OC handle 1440p 144hz Overwatch?

Can it run it at 144 fps? I probably will tone down graphics from ultra to high-ish.

probably not. the benchmarks i've seen say 50,80,or 100 fps http://www.userbenchmark.com/PCGame/FPS-Estimates-Overwatch/3789/153864.0.0.1440p.0

So if I pick the median and say 80fps at full, then I doubt you'll get close to double (144fps) by tuning down

Its definitely possible if you tone down the settings and don't go cranking it up to max.

Source: A GTX 980 gets about 110FPS and the GTX 1060 is on par with it.

Probably on low or medium. Doubt it'll stay locked 144 at high. Why did you spend money on a 1440p 144hz monitor but not on a GPU powerful enough to push those frames at that resolution?

I bought the GPU first because I will probably switch to vega in the nest 2 years. Plus I think 1440p is the sweet spot for gaming.

That's fine for 144hz. GPU should be fine, though you may need to go lower than high-ish.

Yeah I don't really notice the graphical difference between high and epic settings.
