Should I keep this Power Supply?

So I'm going to be buying my first PC build and was wandering if the Power Supply I've already got in my parts list will be good enough for my build or weather I should spend around £20 on a slightly more expensive one!

Thanks for any replies

Yeah, it's not going to be loaded even in half capacity. If you want something that will last much longer, take TX550M.

How about the Corsair - CSM 550W?

Thanks

A much worse choice than both.

Oh right, how come that is?

It has much higher ripple than both of those, uses worse filtering capacitors that will last shorter, and only has a 3 year warranty.

Actually after further investigations ir seems the CX650M doesn't have an OCP protection at the 12V rail! (according to Tom's hardware)

Well duh - that's because single rail PSUs don't have OCP on +12V.

It is OPP's job to shut down the PSU when the load on 12V gets too high, and you've got EVGA B3 as an example of what happens when that doesn't work.
