Hello everyone,

I am building my first system I am stuck between choosing the corsair CX450M or the corsair CX550M. According to pcpartpicker build sheet my pc will consume 395W. The price difference is about 15euro which is not huge but it always help to save where i can.

Could you please tell me which one to chose and why?

Thank you very much!

David

PCPartPicker doesn't show you accurate power draw, post a link to the build.

It shows TDP, which isn't power draw - every manufacturer of every type of component measures "TDP" however they please (sometimes it's their estimate of top power consumption, other times an average power under load, or something completely different) - which means you should use real world power consumption tests anyway.

Well, TDP literally means "Thermal Design Power". It's the heat output if you're talking about a piece of tech or the amount of heat output if you're talking about a cooler.

Look at my comment on OrionFTL. TDP is actually the heat output.
