Hi I was looking for a power-supply but I am unable to find if they're 18 pin or 24 pin. what is a good power supply for an 18 pin motherboard.
All recent PSUs have a split 20+4 pin for the 24 pin cable to maximize compatibility.
Your best bet is to put in place your motherboard in a parts list with your GPU and see what PSU come up as they will have went through the compatibility screening.
my motherboard isnt even found here it is a HP 1589
You should be able to buy a 24 pin to 18 pin cable though. This should allow you to use a modern PSU without being stuck with the 20+4 pin cable.
The psu I have is a 750 super nova it has a 18 pin + 6 pin to be plugged into it. then it goes into a 24 pin plug. I would need to buy a new psu I guess then get a 24 pin to 18 pin. unless there is a cable 18 pin to 18 pin or 18pin +6 pin to 18 pin.
You can buy an adapter liek this one (not necessarily recommend just an example).
sorry I had a dumb moment I know what you mean now!
