I'm looking to purchase a router as our current broadband hub wifi coverage is weak and sometimes very slow.

I am a Virgin Media UK customer and currently my package includes the Hub 3.0 with 150mb connection speed. All of our devices run via wifi and we have 3 laptops and 5 phones in the house. The only ethernet wired connections used are hooked up to our powerline adapter which links to our smart TV and android minix box downstairs. We live in a 4 bedroom detached house (if that helps).

Budget: I have no idea, depends on what is recommended for the above. Though I am hoping under £100.

Due to prices in UK: ASUS RT-AC87U or ASUS RT-AC3200
Paired with Asuswrt-Merlin firmware.

thanks for the super-fast reply

'Asuswrt-Merlin firmware', is this something already installed in these routers or would I need to manually upgrade. Sorry an absolute noob-tube here
