Ready to take the VR plunge with the HTC Vive, but wait...I need a computer.

So many years with Mac's. Now...wanting to build a PC box with Windows10, 1080 video card, SSD memory etc. HTC is having a special this Friday...but I am struggling to find a build that I can update as things change with computers. Also a build that I don't have to mod parts or tricky magic. Many of you out there are SUPER Wizards and would like to know if you can put a link of a great build for about 1300 US. The Vive is separate. Also...was waiting for Black Friday to see what kind of deals...but with my little knowledge, this will be a challenge. Open to ideas and suggestions. Thanks from Texas. Carlos

I'd say you will get a lot more future and power out of this than you will any pre-built similarly priced. I realize I exceeded the 1300 limit. This can be mitigated by forgoing the SSD until the future as it's an easy future upgrade. Or, you can opt for the 8350K as it's more powerful than the 7th gen i5 7600K and would be great for a pure gaming rig.

Awesome contribution Tragikitmes101. Very much appreciated. Would you wait until Black Sunday to see if this build drops? Carlos

Yes, I would. Not all of the prices will drop (of course) but you may be able to pick up some really sweet deals.

What other hard drive would you suggest in lieu of the western digital? Carlos

The Seagate Barracuda's are a solid HDD line.

Tragiktimes101, Interesting handle by the way...would you update with the seagate and maybe a better processor. I hoping with cyberMonday things might come down to $1300. Thanks for helping me out. carlos

Thank you. Seems the Oculus might be better than ViVe. Do you have any experience with that?
