AMD Motherboard upgrade decisions.

I've got a low'ish grade gaming laptop, fairly capable on med-high settings, Less demanding games can play on ultra.

My mobo is garbage though got it off of CL as a bundle. This was briefly discussed in the link below, but I'm not sure what mobo I need. http://pcpartpicker.com/b/LK7 My goal in the end is to be able to play the newer titles on high w/ 60ish frames or ultra around 30ish frames. I'll likely not ever run xfire but that option would be a plus. I want to run dual monitors, I'll likely get an fx 6300 a bit later. I don't need this build to take over the world, it just needs to play any game I pick up, on at least med-high settings.

I thought I needed to get a 990fx chip set board, but would it be more beneficial to save some cash on a 970 board, and put it towards a better video card? And while we're on that after getting the mobo, any suggestions for video cards? ~$200-$240 is what I was wanting to spend between the two.
