Like pegotico said, tier lists are terrible. PCPartPicker is one of the few forums on the internet that are free of this cancer. The important thing to focus on is not what someone else puts into a certain tier, but whether the unit is actually good or bad. The Strider seems pretty decent, if you can find it for less than something like an EVGA G2 or G3, Corsair RMx or TXM, Bitfenix Whisper M, or Seasonic Focus Plus.

That is not how you should choose PSU's. You might as well pick out PSU's by how cool the name sounds if you are going to use a tier list.

This is how you should choose PSU's.

Don't base your decision using tier lists which have many mistakes.

Check reviews.. sites like Jonnyguru will give you an honest and professional review.

This Silverstone is not a good choice. What is your build and budget for the psu?

Consider seasonic focus gold, evga G3/G2, bitfenix whisper which are all excellent choices.

It's an older unit. You would be better off with a SeaSonic FOCUS plus.

Thanks, I think I'm going to go with the XFX TS Series Gold 550w

That is a good power supply made by Seasonic.

Some people from different forums tried grouping PSUs into quality tiers, but had no idea what actually made PSUs good and what was important.
