hyper 212 evo stock fan replacement

tuanie

I'm using the hyper 212 evo as my heatsink. It does a great job of keeping everything cool but I dislike the fan. Its loud when its under pressure. I"m looking for something to replace it. something that is quiet, and does a good job of keeping my cpu cool with good air flow.

Any suggestion would be great!

Could just be a bad fan...you don't have to scrap the whole cooler just because of that, just replace the fan. Xigmatek makes excellent fans. They're whisper quiet and move a lot of air. You can get a 120MM 60CFM fan for like $10 that you'll never even know is running.

Oh ok, sorry I mistook what you were saying as if you were looking for alternative coolers.

The fan above is like what I have as my rear exhaust...

Here's one that matches (even a little better) airflow of the EVO's stock fan...

The fan in the 2nd link you posted above is available at NewEgg if you can't wait for the XAF1255 to become available. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233097

Basically the XLF series is ~60CFM (what I use as rear exhaust). The XAF1255 will match/beat the airflow of the 212 EVO fan, but it's out of stock and that XAF1251 is "in between" in terms of airflow.

although they are ugly imo, i believe noctua-f12s are the best performance fans

Ditto to the Noctua brand. If you prefer fixed rpm, Scythe Kama Flow 2 series may also be of interest.
