So this is an updated version of my last post. So what's happening is I have my RAM installed two 8gb modules and when I check my computer specs it only says I have 8gb and also it says only 6.23gb is usable. What should I do?

There's a chance one stick of ram might not be working. I would take one stick out and trying booting the PC. To better keep track of them in my explanation I will label them as follows:

Stick 1: is the one that was in the PC after removing the other.

Stick 2: is the one that had been removed from the PC

I would recommend placing a small piece of masking tape on stick 2 to better keep track of it because this can get confusing

Now after removing stick 2, see if the PC boots using only stick one. If it does great, then there's a chance stick 2 might be dead. Regardless of whether or not the PC was able to boot with only stick 1, you should now remove stick 1 and place stick 2 in the same slot that stick 1 was in and then restart the pc.

Whatever stick it doesn't boot with is the dead one. If it booted with both of them separately that means that the slot on your motherboard that the stick was in when you first tried it might be dead, so try it in a different slot. If neither of them boot then the slot you were testing in is dead and you should try the process again in another slot.

Good luck.

According to the mobo manual, you want to use the slot 2nd from the left if using only 1 stick. (DIMMA2)

Your RAM doesn’t appear to be on the QVL for your mobo - have you contacted MSI to check? https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B250M-PRO-VDH#support-mem-4
