went to a friends house. tested his computer. bought it went home and plugged everything in and now the computer won't boot. the fans turn on for a second then everything turns on then it repeats. like its stuck

That's pretty good, considering the 7700k is 320$, 1080 is 530$, 16GB of ram is 160$ that's already 1010$ not counting case, PSU, cpu cooler, windows, motherboard, etc.

The cheapest ones listed here now are 800$, which is how much a 1080ti used to cost (about 750$ for a cheap one) but after XMAS and cryptocurrencies mining surges the demand went up, which means supply went down, which means prices went up. A good amount of 1080s on PCPP are actually still listed as 500$, but they show up with no price unless clicked on as they are out of stock because. For example, look here: https://pcpartpicker.com/products/video-card/#c=367&sort=clock&Y=600047&m=18&page=1&z=1720,1809 all these cards don't have prices listed, however, if you click on them they actually do have a price, but are out of stock at that merchant.
