They are both sata based ssd's so they are the same speeds (more or less). But The MX300 has 25GB more storage so thats the one i would personally go with.

Also M.2 has no cables which is also a plus to me.

Great. How do you know if its a sata based or m.2 ? Because its written m.2 ! What does it mean then?

M.2 and 2.5" ssd's are just the formfactor.

SATA III is the interface and every ssd (2.5" or M.2) says if its SATA III or PCI-Express 3.0 x4 (for example SAMSUNG 960 EVO M.2 ).
