Hi, I was going to buy the MSI 970A-G46 ATX AM3+ at £47.94 but its shot up to £64.00. I'm quite inexperienced with motherboards so I was wondering if there's a motherboard a bit cheaper, as I'm not sure the one I was going to get is worth £64.00.

This is the build for the motherboard: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

Personally I would either get a different case with USB 3.0 for not much more and choose between these 3 970 boards

Gigabyte 970a-ud3 - http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-ga970aud3

ASUS M5a97 r2.0 - http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-m5a97r20

ASRock 970 Extreme 4 - http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-970extreme4

But that's just because I believe that if you're gonna build something it should have some modern advances on it and at least USB 3.0 :P

Many thanks for the reply!

I do not have any USB 3.0 devices, nor do I plan to buy any. So USB 3.0 isn't a concern for me at all.

I was thinking either the Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 Socket AM3+ ATX Motherboard - £50.39 http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/GIGABYTE+GA-970A-DS3+AMD+970A+%28Socket+AM3%2B%29+ATX+Motherboard+?productId=48467

or

MSI 970A-G43 AMD 970 (Socket AM3+) Motherboard - £55.16 http://www.scan.co.uk/products/msi-970a-g43-amd-970-s-am3plus-ddr3-sata-iii-6gb-s-sata-raid-pcie-20-%28x16%29-atx-xfire-usb-30-gigabit-

Well if it's between those 2 I would definitely get the G43 strictly for the fact of the 6 channel audio on the rear I/O. That's just me though :P If audio isn't that big of a deal for the DS3 isn't a bad option either.
