As the title says, what are your thoughts on a solid GPU for a modest build? I've been looking at possibly a GTX 1070 ti.

What kind of resolution will you be playing at?

1080p to start, with room to grow into 1440p if I can find good deals on a monitor in the future. That's why I've been looking into the 1070ti. Sounds like everything I need for 1080p on ultra, with support for higher resolution down the road if I choose.

1070 ti is good. I’d recommend finding it for a decent price though

Well depends on what you wanna do with it ultimately, if you have yet to build it, going with coffee lake etc then i can roughly go off of that for now.

1070 itself can do 1440p gaming while maintaining a good 60+ fps for tons of games.

If you wanna do 1440p 144hz OR 4k gaming you can opt for 1070 TI or a 1080.

But if you are just looking for a good card for gaming at high fps id say a 1070 is good.

Thanks! All good info. I'll definitely look into the 1070...
