Windows 10 education USB boot

Hi everyone,

I am about to create my first PC build and I just realized that as a student I have access to buying a free edition of windows 10 education, which would save me $100 on windows 10 home software. I currently have a mac laptop, but does anyone know if I can buy/download windows 10 from on the hub anyway, and then somehow transfer it to a usb boot drive to install on my new build? Does that sound like it would work or can I only upgrade to windows 10 education from windows 10 home or pro? Also, does anyone know if I will lose access to my software once I graduate? or do I get to keep the license perpetually?

Thanks,

M
