Black screen on bootup for long period of time

My computer kind of lagged up and task manager was saying my cpu was at 100% so I decided to restart it. And it boots up into nothing for a good 5 minutes then loads into windows. Can't even get into bios or safe mode, just a black screen for the longest time til windows logo. Not sure what happened but wondering if anyone has had the same issue or has a fix. Thanks

Hello,

Sounds like Malware, and a system in need of maintenance.

Download Malwarebytes, free edition, don't worry if you end up the Pro version, it will eventually expire...they're just trying to market their product.

https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/

Next, check for viruses, scan with you Antivirus.

Go into "ADD/REMOVE programs and remove anything which may of downloaded with something else.

You can perform a "CLEAN BOOT"

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

Clean out your Browser/s, cache, history, etc. Reset

You can use "Task Manager" to locate the program/s or service/s which is pegging-out your CPU and R-Click on it/them and end the process/es. They will come back after you reboot. So, the idea here is to find there location and uninstall them.

Download, update, and run a scan with this tool. Choose the Free version.

https://www.superantispyware.com/download.html

Download, update, and run both scanners on this tool, (Cleaner & Registry) remove everything it finds. Repetitively, run additional scans until they stop finding anything.

Again, choose the free version.

https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/download?source=cpc&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3cmlpM-Z3AIVw19-Ch39fgg4EAAYASABEgILHPD_BwE

Let me know whats happening afterwards, and we can run a few more cleaners on the system.

Hope this helps.
