so my mother board has an 8 pin input for my cpu but my psu only gives me 4 pins of power for my cpu. I was wondering if i could use my gpu power instead because my gpu only needs 6 pins (and i have them plus another 6+2 pins) so i was wondering if i could the 6+2 pins with an extender cable to use the gpu 6+2 pins to supply my cpu with power.

What model of psu is it?

NO.

The pinouts are different. I believe using just a 4 pin cpu power is ok. just plug it into the half of the 8 it fits into. (will only fit one way)
