Asrock x370 bios update, please help

I built a pc for a buddy a while back. It’s a ryzen 1200 on an asrock killer sli/ac. He’s wants to start streaming so we got him a ryzen 2600. I know this requires a bios update. I downloaded the correct file on a usb 2.0 and unzipped it. When I go into bios to use the instant flash tool the file shows for a second the says “no image file detected”. I’ve tried 3 different usb sticks, some forms say you have to use a usb 2.0 port but this case and mobo only has 3.0 and 3.1. Please help

Asrock x370 ... killer sli/ac ...

State current BIOS version and the BIOS version you are attempting to use.

You should be able to perform the bios update automatically through an internet connection.

When I’m in bios it says no connection, using WiFi. I can try plugging directly in to router I guess.
