Background: I'd like this build capable of 1440p (2k) gaming for the next 2-3 years at 100-120FPS Ultra settings on games like The Witcher 3, Black Desert Online and future MMORPG games like Camelot Unchained and Crowfall. I also want this to be able to run Kingdom Come Deliverance 1440p 100fps on lowered settings. and I hope someday Cyberpunk 2077 heheh.

Graphics Card: I need major help to pick out which manufacturer card to get as I'm not sure about the one i picked.

Price: I don't want to spend more than $2750 unless its going to give a big boost in performance.

Notes: I do hope that this build will allow for future upgrade-ability to a next-next gen card (i.e. 2019-2020 cards)

Questions sorted:

  1. is there a better 1080TI for any manufacturer for better price and/or performance? (keep i mind i dont want to go above around 750$ on the card as then i feel its ripoff territory heheh and beyond 800$ is RTX territory hehe)

  2. any bottlenecks you see?

  3. any inefficiencies? Just switched to intep card onsale at frys nearby

  4. any future proofing I can do? (i may wait for the new z390 boards)

  5. do i need more fans? (i'm not doing liquid cooled) i am building for 3 fans

6.. do i need to overclock my CPU?

Any help on any of these questions would be great. If you have an opinion on any part of the build please let me know. No need to go through the entire thing if you dont have time, any piece meal advice is fine, thank you guys!

Since you have room in the budget, I do think I would push up to the 2700x. Yes, you'll probably need at least one more case fan, I'd target a minimum of 3. Samsung is usually overpriced but that one looks like a deal. The RAM is fine.

For those games a 100hz monitor will do fine really no reason to get stressed over 20hz.

Get the i7 8700 processor you still really can't beat Intel's gaming performance, I would also get 1TB of SSD pace or either add a 1TB hard drive, for the Blu-ray player I really se no use for one in 2018, and that case is really low quality for spending so much on parts.

The video card is 750 bucks not the 669 listed by pcartpicker so get a MSI card for about the same price.

The PSU is 79 bucks on Amazon no need to wait on a rebate.

A bit more than your spending but should be a much better build for the games your playing and gives you double the SSD space.

Thanks man, i made a few updates based on ur recommendations. One big difference is the i5 8600k is onsale nearby me so im gonna get that instead of an i7 and i switched to the z370 mobo since it allowed for overclocking. I did follow ur recommendations and changed the power supply, case, and dropped the optical.

And upped to 1tb, good idea hehehe. I revised my OP to reflect that. Sorry for typos on my phone
