Computer randomly turning off while in sleep mode

Hi all,

I built a new desktop several months ago and for the most part is works fantastically, but one odd thing it has been doing is shutting down randomly if I put the computer to sleep. If it enters sleep on its own it doesn't seem to have a problem, but if I put the desktop to sleep it will power down anywhere from 1-24 hours later.

Upon powering up it seems to go through too long of a boot process (like approaching first boot length), but then runs fine. If i shut it down and restart it starts and runs normally.

The only settings I have messed with at all in the BIOS was for the ram speed. Could this be an issue?

Check your power options

Yeah there is no setting checked that says "intermittently shut down my computer with no warning while it is in sleep, but only if i set it to sleep."

Turn off the sleep option. Always has been buggy and probably always will be. Hibernation is a better option but it has its own set of issues too. This can all be found in your power options.
