Brand new monitor goes randomly all black and produces buzzing noise

Hi everybody!

I got my brand new LG 25UM58 (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/xv38TW/lg-monitor-25um58) delivered today, and to my disappointment, I'm already having issues with it. It works well for a few seconds or even minutes, then it goes all black and produces a buzzing sound (it does not have built-in speakers). I followed the instructions from the manual to set it up.

  • It is plugged directly on the wall, not on a power strip.
  • The PSU is the original
  • The HDMI cable is the one delivered with the monitor
  • I'm using the native resolution of the monitor (2560*1080px)

The source is my Acer Swift laptop running Windows 10 version 1803 (Intel Pentium N4200 CPU, Intel HD Graphics, 4Gbs of RAM)

If I shut it down for a few minutes, then turn it back on, it works again then manifests the same behaviour.

I don't think I've done anything wrong. Has anybody here got a similar experience and solved the issue?

Thanks!
