Yes, you will need a WiFi adapter or card as the motherboard does not have built in WiFi.

I am building my first as well.. someone was telling me i needed to look into a bluetooth adapter as well as the wifi adapter

It depends if you have any bluetooth devices that you need to connect. Most times they come with their own usb adapter but if not they are very cheap around $10 or so.
