  • Budget: $2000
  • Location: USA
  • Use: music production (recording, mixing, mastering), occasional gaming
  • Peripherals required: none

Looking to upgrade my 5 year-old PC workstation. Primary function will be music production, with extensive use of large sample libraries and virtual instruments.

8 core fast intel processor with a good low noise cooler, 32GB of memory, quite case and the new RTX 2060 for the gaming. (Overkill on the power supply to also keep the noise down) You can add anouther drive if/when you need more space.

Nothing flashey just a solid low noise PC.

Unusual for you to put together a bad build. Music production =low noise. No need for a work station card and he did say some gaming.

Wouldn't Threadripper have higher latency for the music program over a consumer CPU?

Worse performance.
