Valve fitting question

I have a valve fitting so that I can drain my custom loop, but I don't know if I have to put a cap fitting at the end of it. Should I, or am I fine without one? Thanks in advance.

You can for safety. But the valve should be tight if closes.

I have a cap on mine just to be sure. It does not leak (the cap never gets wet), but it's good to know if I accidentally would turn the valve, my PC would not get flooded. :)
