Does anyone have one of these Tracer III laptops? Are they any good in terms of quality?
well, they would be very similar to any other Sager/Clevo laptop, since cyberpower has simply rebranded most of these along with other companies like Origin PC, Eluktronics, etc. I once had an Eluktronics laptop. quality was top notch, but it was heavy, had a few software glitches, and overall felt clunky for the price I paid. haven't used a laptop since.
So for the price of this one with the current configuration would you recommend getting it?
Honestly? No. $1500 for an i9-8950hk, 16GB DDR4-240mhz, and a measly GTX 1060 seems like a ripoff. I mean, sure, great CPU, but you're just sacrificing other important things to get it. You can get a laptop that is just as good for gaming with an i7-8750h and a gtx 1070 for less usually. Of course, you can certainly get what you want.
It also has a 1tb wd blue ssd and a 144hz ips display. It seemed like a good deal at first glance. Don't think there's a way to run eGPU on this unfortunately. I was thinking of either getting something thin and practical for university, but I feel like i'd want something to game on in case I went on trips or something so I found this because the cpu seemed OP for the price. Can you find me something for around the same price?
