So this is going to be my first build, I already have Core i7-7700 and Samsung 860 EVO 2 TB. I wanted a portable machine for traveling. Found this case online and I liked it a lot, the case is modular so adding a large tophat would allow me to install NZXT Kraken X52.

This is the build I'm thinking of building, planning on putting the cooler at the bottom of the case. I don't have a lot of knowledge about air flow or any super technical stuff since this is my first build, would appreciate opinions and suggestions on anything.

make sure your gpu isn't too thick. Some of the 2080's are over 2 slots and almost triple slot coolers

Oh shoot, good point! I just checked and the 2080 I picked is actually too thick, I guess I'll have to go with some 1080 Ti. Thank you!!

Anyone have suggestions on alternative parts that are the same or better but cheaper? I'm hoping this unit can last a 3-4 years. Is this video card over killing it?

Is MSI RTX 2080 Aero, blower style a better alternative? Trying to reduce the budget for GPUs.
