I need some experienced advice on understanding the correct PSU wattage for my build. As I see it, ideally, the build should be between 20% (at idle) and 75% to 80% (at load) of the PSU's wattage capacity, as per my understanding of the 80+ Gold certificate efficiency indicators.
Now, PcPartpicker's estimate for this build is 410W, so if I get a 550W PSU, I should be good. (110W idle = 20% of PSU capacity, and 410W load = 74% of PSU capacity)
My doubts started when I decided to try out Newegg's and Asus's wattage calculators, which gave me a recommendation of 770W and 800W respectively, which seem unnecessarily high in comparison to my 550W, but then again they are golden source calculators.
So what should I go for, 550W, 800W or something in between?
Thank you very much for the help.
