After this upgrade, the system starts up and I can enter the BIOS. I can log into my microsoft account but then the screen goes dark and windows is very laggy. It takes 15 minutes to show the desktop and the PC is just unusable. I suspect a Ram incompatibility. I was wondering if I should try to upgrade the BIOS or simply change those ram sticks (which would be very sad 'cause I really like them). Do you have any suggestion? Thank you!

Well, I just discovered that the lag was caused not by a compatibility issue with the ram sticks, but by a faulty sata cable... Everything look fine now. Thank you!

Yeah a cable check is always the first thing to do with MB's. If it starts acting up again, consider a clean install of windows 10.

It's funny you say that, 'cause at the end I had to reinstall Windows. I was unable to reactivate my copy (which is genuine of course) and the OS was acting weird. After two hours speaking with the Microsoft help desk's guys I had to purchase a new license for something around 30 $ because I don't have my Windows 7 product key anymore... It's very irritating, but you know... now everything is fine.

Sounds like you did a smart thing. If its running good now thats all that matters. In the long run that upgrade sucks to have to perform but ur gonna love that performance boost.

Still having problems: I cannot acces the Windows store and Windows update doesn't work. The help desk suggested me a clean install... I really didn't want to go that far, but I think it's the only option. Hope it will solve all the problems.
